Convincing employees that pay not increasing with inflation is “ok” is one of the worst things corps have done. If they can’t match inflation you’re getting a pay cut and they are getting you for less than they did last year.

The problem with removing regulation for corps so they can work a “free” “market” is that they will exploit. It’s what they’ve always done. It’s what they will always trend toward. See also: kids in auto plans, meat facilities, etc. The i

If you hire two people for the same non piecework role they should be paid the same regardless of a whole host of things. If you pay someone widget wise - that’s entirely different. Reminder: Capitalism will exploit any time it can.

AI art is still 100% art. If any of us ever consider coding artistic and inventive, then AI art is also art. I code. I am also an oil painter. I suck at composition. If I ask an AI to layout a scene, is my meatspace painting less art? (

Let’s be honest: I’m rooting for the technological progress. The company operates like all companies - exploitation and shareholder manipulation. The progress is a nice outcome. Even if it makes the asshole owner richer. Especially beca

Just a small point of order: there is no such thing as “unskilled labor” - All labor is skilled labor. Even breaking rocks.

Accounts have character slots and when you join a corp, you are often required to provide an api key to show all chars on this account. Chars have public history of corp membership or pvp fights etc. So if you roll a char in an acct with ot

This is important. Our relationship with those who pay is for labor is indeed “sold” as “do something you love and …” and frankly that does help people over time. I love coding. Enough that I don’t want to age into being a director/m

But does the market not also focus on profit and continuous expansion/consolidation? Clearly based on things like drug prices, egg prices, etc… profit is a “driving” factor, not “will this product sell.”
