I failed big last year with an iPhone app. I'm at it again this year with a web app - trying not to make the same mistakes I made the first time around. The jury's still out on the 2nd round but I am releasing in a few weeks time so I'll kn

I considered that but it's not so hard to signup for a gmail account.. and once signed up she wouldn't have to ever login.. It is required for signup though.

I'm introducing my first startup called HobsonFiles in this blog post. It's basically a beefed up version of Google Contacts.

Soundtracks - Hans Zimmer, Philip Glass, Howard Shore, James Horner etc.. I tend to find them motivational for things like coding.. especially when I'm coding for my own startup.

To the founders: Congrats and thanks for sharing your reflections with us. Is there a Rapportive API in the works? I would love to integrate Rapportive into some apps I'm currently working on instead of plugging into the Gmail sidebar.

Shouldn't a virtual assistant by definition be virtual, i.e. a bot or piece of software that has some AI baked in? I rather like the idea of "virtual" assistants but you're talking about outsourcing to cheap offshore labor. Why can't softwa

Been playing with it.. I'd call this a very marginal improvement at best. Looks like there's still plenty of space left for companies like Etacts and Rapportive to play with.

Because it's more fun to make the web do things it was never intended for and it's still the closest thing we have to a universal write once platform.

I've used Highrise and Salesforce.. SF was too expensive and pandered to fortune 500 companies with large budgets and long lists of feature requests. Highrise was a huge improvement but still fell short in terms of email integration and so

Loved 1 and 7. You can copy a product's feature set but you can't copy its soul which are a combination of vision and team dynamic IMHO.

No it's mobile Safari's fault. You're right about hover/drags but it does have odd rendering issues. It also has abysmal javascript performance compared to its desktop counterpart.

The way I use it: 1. A makeshift Apple TV with video hookups 2. As a radio running Pandora (speakers are great) 3. GPS - the best GPS I've ever used (GPS Drive Motion X) 4. All the standard web browsing/emailing/IM'ing.. Areas still lacking
