I think old CLI tools are hard to use because they were designed to be machine- and human-readable at the same time. They are effectively APIs in some scenarios (e.g., scripting and as linked libraries) and in others handholds. As a result

The git plugin allows you to disable it on certain devices. I enable it only on my main computer and sync the vault among devices with syncthing, which I find much more reliable than wholly relying on git.

Didn't find any reference in the readme, but was almost sure it's crypto-related the moment I saw the header image; the silly design style is so endemic that it simply shouts crypto on the visitor's face.

There're some other editors that have similar behaviors. AFAIK, CKEditor [1], an online rich text editing framework, is optimized for cascaded formatting tags. A <pre> or <a> element will be highlighted if the cursor is &q

I reduced my twitter consumption to nearly zero by simply subscribing to accounts I followed via RSS. I was immediately stunned by how noisy some pundits are and how their posts are laughably low-quality vis-a-vis posts from decent feeds li

Exactly my experience. I run in laps so I'm pretty sure of the distance simply by counting and multiplying, which gives a mostly constant speed of ~5min/km. Apple Watch says my speed is sometimes 3.5min and sometimes 6.5min, and c

Tangentially related -- I just want bloggers to think twice before choosing (mis|ab)used Google Fonts just because they look "fancier" at first sight. Lato and Merriweather have become Arial and Times New Roman of our time.

I understand the benefits of font masking but the side effect is too bitter to swallow. Especially, the "chosen set of fonts," which mostly comprises outdated web safe fonts designed for the pixelated era, doesn't seem "
