Why didn't they simplify it (and make it more like current JS) by leaving out the .send() method? Wouldn't this make more sense? var tester = test; tester();

Teachers in my High School caught students doing this several times. The teacher would go on the Answers sites the night of an assignment and incorrectly* answer a question to catch the students cheating. Pretty clever on the teachers' pa

What causes the US to be (or at the very least, be considered ) so corrupt? My main theory is lack of political parties. Just like how companies take advantage of the consumer the most when they're a monopoly, the government can take advan

This reminds me of the "Office" episode where "Wuphf" is a Silicon Valley startup spoof. In Ryan's "profit" projections[1] he's asked about his plan for revenue, and he replies: "First rule of Silicon Valley, you think about the user, the

Sure, it's titled "The World's Work" and I guess it's sort of "The Economist" of its day. Here's a Google Books link (the article on education is on page 21) http://books.google.com/books/about/The_World_s_work.html?id...

I was reading an article in an OLD print magazine published in the year 1900 (probably around when that picture was taken). It spoke of the increase of college students in the U.S. and made some comments on how past countries had suffered

Little ironic that the project's page isn't responsive, especially considering their Foundation framework is a fantastic tool for such tasks (I like it more than bootstrap). Anyway, it looks great, and thank you Zurb for making such great t

I wonder if that's part of why the geek community is fighting harder than most: we've all read a couple cyberpunk/farenheight-451-type books and realize that future is not as impossible as once thougnt.

It's amazing how different Northern VA people are, to the point they don't want to be associated with the southern half of the state. It doesn't really seem to be a North vs. South attitude either, it's more of an intellectual vs good-ol-va

It's amazing how far humans have progressed in 150 years isn't it? A century ago you had a right to complain about working conditions if, for example, you lost a limb in a meat factory. In the 1880s 1 in 7 steel workers would die while at w

I wonder if Uber, Lyft and Sidecar aren't competing against each other right now, seeing as they have a common enemy. It would be wise to have all the people on your side as possible even if they won't be in the future.

I attended Virginia schools from grades 4-12, and my particular school district decided it would be a good idea to have a "prestigious" grading scale (A=93-100, B=87-92, C=78-86, and so on). It seemed like a good idea at first: A public sch

Well here's the problem I've seen: the trackpad is (or should be) mostly useless in tablet mode, and the touchscreen is impossible to use in desktop mode. I much prefer a dual boot setup, so you aren't mentally switching every few minutes.
