Would this allow Lua code to directly use Goroutines, and take advantage of Go's features for concurrency and parallelism? I'd love to see a high-level language like Lua (or Python, Ruby etc.) with good threading support. Building

Do you think a statically-typed language could ever be a "contender" - i.e. compete with Python in terms of ease-of-use etc? Nowadays, I don't think any new, dynamically-typed language has a chance to become mainstream.
