Actually, I put a c++ project template together to solve this exact problem. It uses cmake to generate a makefile (including IDE projects that just work), and google mock for testing. You still have to add libraries like boost to the CMakeL

Also not affiliated but I've been using Little Snitch for about 5 years now, and I can't recommend this app enough. It's the first app I install on a new OSX installation.

I totally agree about requiring :as or :refer to specific functions, but it still seems like the clojure team prefers naked `use` over `require refer all`, so should the style guide be changed to allow naked `use` in some circumstances? I g

I'm a bit confused about the require refer all vs use . Can someone explain why use is bad in that context (or in general)? Link: https://github.com/bbatsov/clojure-style-guide#prefer-requir... UPDATE: Looks

"Flash Boys" by Michael Lewis It's about High Frequency Trading (algorithmic trading) and how the market reacted; and what a few individuals did to solve the problem. It's a seriously addicting book.

Checkout AWS's Elastic Beanstalk. Full DevOps built in. I have an app setup to use a new cheap t2.micro server and skips the load balancer (but I can add one at any time). Performance is pretty good and best of all, it only runs me aro

I love this! Looks like HN might be slowing your server down (around 800ms to grab matches). You should try puma or unicorn instead of webrick.

This is an interesting idea, as it weeds out clients who are banking on you doing some free work. Still, the "free bug support" idea is a really powerful selling point, as it show confidence. Perhaps offer 2 or 3-months of "f

I can't find the source, but I recall Rob Pike talking about how the Go language and syntax are designed to "scale". Naturally, Mr. Pike would opt for a C style syntax, but with tools like go fmt and the package manager bui

At work a client wants to use Django CMS, so I considered this as an alternative, but I'm not sure how the modularity of Wagtail compares to Django CMS. Can someone help me understand why I should prefer one over the other?

So why did they choose to allow case classes to have arbitrary arity? Not that I'm complaining, I just don't understand the underworking of scala that well.

Probably the best change in my opinion was resolving the arity limit for case classes: https://issues.scala-lang.org/browse/SI-7296 I've bumped up against that limit pretty bad while trying to deserialize json. Sh
