Russia has so much ammunition from the Soviet times with maybe 500m CEP. Who knows maybe 5% hits the target. Either way it is cheaper to just fire them more or less randomly than to keep them in stock. They use for example air to air or nav

My impression is that Asian bread culture in general is very different. (Where "different" may be an euphemism) But I don't really have the insights, so I'd love an introduction.

No one questions that hand made bread tastes better, just as hand crafted code will always be better in some areas. But will we need the entire army of "coders" that we currently have?

The ice layer is constantly moving and covering things up, so it will be close to impossible to find for example Scott's body and tent 100 years later. At some point some artifacts or bodies will reach the glacier edge and drop into th

OTOH, you can learn so much from the AI, so I think if you just stop and read and ask questions, I think it is a lot easier for a junior to learn than before.

Isn't this similar to how for example the food industry has developed. You don't need a baker to make bread, but you need a "food technician" to monitor the bread making machines.

What you describe is exactly the challenge and opportunity to overcome. Why should I have to rely on Google/stack overflow/chatgpt to set up my environment?

These days my main problem when learning is coming to terms with the development environment. Python, how do I install and work with venvs? What is poetry and why is it better? Scala, what is sbt and how do I make it work in Intellij? Thing

In Sweden, where the minimum salary is pretty high, and in general employment has many rules and laws around them, there would be a limit to the type of work that you can do as a "job". You can't just transform a volunteer to

The user name "zitterbewegung" sounds like a German. They build sentences like that. You have to think about a sentence like a stack and read it slowly and carefully and take note of the push and pop operations. Germans are like R

Kick the habit. For loops are what "goto" was 20 years ago. Error prone and not possible to abstract for example for parallel execution.

Doing Python or R right means using vector/matrix operations in e.g. numpy. Those will be faster. Just think twice before using a for loop. Most of the time it is not needed.

Apache Flink has deprecated support for Scala. https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/FLINK/FLIP-265+D... An aggregation engine like that was otherwise a good fit for a functional-ish language like Scala

And if you get stuck, since it is all about rows and columns, just sketch it out in Excel. Not using formulas in Excel but just using it as a rows/columns editor. This makes it visually clearer.

Isn't recursion exactly that? A loop that feeds into the next iteration.

The goals are very different. It was like this also before AI. The goal in school is to learn things. To learn to write you can't just copy an article from a paper and say it is yours. You have not learned. At work, the goal is to get

I think it should be worth it. For the reason that you are closer to the product you are building, you help defining what to build. As opposed to programming which is more like plumbing work.

A guess... 1G (NMT) and 2G networks have been used in forestry. Very often the machines are far from a mast and need the extra range to communicate. And in general Finland is a sparsely populated country.
