Actually the correct thing would be not to give your email password to 3rd party website especially if you know will panic afterwards for every strange IP you'll see in your logs. The credit card comparison doesn't really make sense as cred

As if somebody would pick Scheme over Clojure for tail call optimization alone. Clojure has a lot of handy stuff and the fact that's built on top of the JVM (with its limitations, indeed) is a major plus.

Again, I don't think blogging about this will influence your A/B test, because your (future) customers and people reading your blog don't overlap very much (or at all). But, I do think publishing the A/B test does influence the outcome if t

Assuming no actual possible customer reads this blog, this doesn't influences the number of new customers, but it does changes the overall numbers. But, if people know they are being A/B tested, this allows them to make a decision about

Isn't it odd to announce the A/B test when you've just started it ? I mean, I don't think HN readers are in the bingo cards market, but still, it feels like he might be influencing the results by blogging about this beforehand.

Actually just tested Bespin today and it needs a lot more work before it becomes an IDE. Right now it's just a browser-based text editor with some syntax highlighting for Javascript and HTML (XML doesn't work btw). It needs a few more langu

This looks highly unusual. Isn't Foxconn interest to keep their workers happy ? I'm not even sure how is Apple justifying this given those workers aren't Apple employees. So, basically, Foxconn increased the price of their service but inclu

This is why I found distasteful for Apple to predict a gold-rush for iPad apps at their keynote. It was wishful thinking actually.

Aren't they tired of always playing catch-up ? I'm pretty sure the iPad $500 starting price surprised a lot of them so claiming now that they will release a "rival" table for $200 or so is mostly wishful thinking.

Indeed, I don't see that much anti-Microsoft people these days. Microsoft is mostly out of the picture entirely. Paul Graham wrote something similar about 3 years ago so it's not a new deduction: http://www.paulgraham.com/microsoft.html

Your question resembles what Alan Watts said in a talk about Buddism which was somewhat like: "if you could have everything you want, all the money, all the women -- what would you do then" ?

Well, it's not like one could ask his employer for a Wii. If you are to get some kind of smart phone, might as well get an iPhone. Plus, the iPhone is so expensive it makes sense to have it on the corporate account.

I would say the iPad might actually be a better fit for geeks (that know how to use it) or people that don't actually use computers that much so they'll just adapt to anything. Because the "average Joe" is actually a pretty strange beast: *
