No offence, but the Toledo is in Spain. I would like to see a photo but I see the site blocks my EU IP entirely.

Embrace the crappiness and call it stoicism. My Xiaomi phone is nowhere near the iPhone but it does provide 95% at 20% prices. The smart band is no Apple Watch but it was $20. The Lenovo is no head turner but it is 16 threads at 30% the pri

I'd estimate that the more one rationalises this the less likely to actually switch away from Apple. It's actually quite simple: let things run their course. When the iPhone becomes too lousy, don't buy another iPhone. When t

As somebody not living in the US but aware of US internal affairs due to the huge gravity of US media and tech, I don't understand how the current trend won't lead to more segregation. If you never drop a subject it never reaches

Because it's hard for a state to justify and defend itself if populations are separated on clear lines. Thus, the state must enforce some sort homogeneity which will lead to better population mood and patriotism.

Can I natively call the Objective C API from an unsigned app or not?

Perhaps, but not such high interest that Homebrew would prove to work today.

I knew you can use `osascript` but this still does not tell me if it works with unsigned apps or not. For all we know `osascript` is signed which means it respects the rules.

I'm still salty that the macOS Notification Center was introduced as a "for-pay" API as it initially worked only on AppStore apps and then on signed apps. I'm still not sure if it works on unsigned apps, but considering

Honestly I think I'm charging this band once a month. Which doesn't seem like such a hassle. Indeed, my Casio still runs with the original battery but it also has almost no features and was 3x as expensive than this band.

Don't the current laws define the lines on basic decency? That's what the companies should follow. And I believe many should strive for that instead: there's loads of companies doing illegal things to their employees! So, bei

The "cheap" Casios run on the fumes of their old fame and retro nostalgia. I'd say the modern day equivalent would be a $20 waterproof fitness band like a Xiaomi Mi Band. They are basically uncompetitive today, unlike they we

I wonder why? I would expect that it is possible technically just that "the powers that be" made a policy decision not to allow it. If it were possible would you use the BIOS?

This is like asking why do you prefer to start your engine with a key when we have buttons that scan your fingerprint and authenticate you with Apple? If the BIOS is sufficient and simpler... why not?

The MBP wasn't keeping up with CPU needs so I moved this year to the Lenovo Legion which has the 16-threads Ryzen 4800h. Being so new/modern it was, perhaps unsurprisingly, the hardest to get everything right. It still has some us

Yes, my app is Java so I would also have to pay for a Windows cert. I have none right now and would love to not feel so attached to the $300 a fancy cert would be. For HTTPS I manage with LetsEncrypt. Wouldn't that work for you?

Apple has banned GPL from macOS quite some time ago and has been pruning GPL apps. See http://meta.ath0.com/2012/02/05/apples-great-gpl-purge/

I literally paid Apple $99 so I can give its users for free an Open Source app. The free developer account does not allow you to notarize apps. And Apple gives no free passes to open-source apps. Everybody must pay. I'm still debat

There's no comparison to how blacks were treated in America, we are not barbarians. There's no colored bathrooms and stuff like that. They have all the legal right as any citizen to own propert, start companies, hire others, etc.

Depends on how you define "part". Maybe the visible part like MySQL or the Linux kernel or Android. But I'd say open source has a long tail mostly unpaid. From where I'm staying there is also a myth that companies pay fo
