Steam's only real purpose is as a store right? I can open an executable pretty well most of the time. And Steam makes enough money through said store that I think they need to be held to the standards of Amazon, rather than their conte

Under 600 is not going to get you a pc that will work 2 years from now. If you have extreme budget concerns sure, but VR is a luxury item so if you are willing to shell out for the equipment, spend a little more to build a PC that will last

Nobody is going to play games that make them sick. Ever. It will not happen. This is not a solved problem, and VR will never be anything but a niche technology until you can walk in a video game without needing to throw up.

> They've set a seriously high bar for digital store fronts I agree with your general point, but no. No they have not. The Steam client is terrible. Unresponsive, un-intuitive, and surprisingly bad for searching in as well.

400 for an oculus, plus around 1000 for a competent pc? You could probably do less for the PC but at that point you are making compromises that I wouldn't personally make.

Yeah, I can't bring my self to spend the 400-1000 dollars required for adding vr to my already too expensive pc until something happens that convinces me it isn't a gimmick. We will see, but hopefully? this will be the first full,

MacOS. These points have been made a million times, but I'll make them again. Windows is fine for day to day casual use, but the moment you attempt to peek under the hood you encounter a hostile and alien landscape. Linux is usually co

New York is a special case, but one that makes me concerned about the long term viability of large cities. I would guess that NYC's corruption issues have to do with scale and wealth comparable to many states or even countries, but ver

Apple should just release a really really expensive version of the air. That way people looking for a designer laptop have something they can throw too much money at, and the rest of us can have a mbp that makes some allowances for performa

Combustion engine development was oddly stunted though. We have known the basic formula for power for a very long time (forced induction + high compression + high octane fuel). Superchargers are ancient, turbos aren't new either, alt

China presents a huge opportunity for growth to the NBA, and this is a really crucial period for them as it seems like the NFL's stranglehold might be weakening and extra money to reinvest might help that process. I don't understa

"Almost any language will look cryptic if you don’t know it." Seems disingenuous to me. Java and Python are in a different class of readability than Bash or Perl. Example: "abc" + "def" = "abcdef" vs

I'm not sure you are being fair. I think any frequent user of regex understands how easy it is to produce expressions that are very difficult to parse. I also think that a discussion about readability makes sense in a post about Bash.

Basically has to be right? Even if the shipping labels were completely standardized, you still have to deal with irregular package dimensions, composition, and label locations. The sort of stuff that robots aren't so good at.
