I love these stories. They are wonderful, and heartwarming, and they remind me to keep in mind that the people on the other side of a news story are human beings as well.

I have no problem with alternate solutions, but for gods sake, at least answer the original question as well.

I don't think you even need to spend a few hundred. ~100 will pretty much do the trick.

I have a solution. If a user repeatedly does that without also providing a solution to the original question then ban them.

Sure, possibly valid points. But the original comment made an explicit point that I can't verify because I cannot find wage data going back past 1964.

Do you have data on this? Because I looked and couldn't find anything reliable going past ~1964.

Also there seems to be no problem with users who submit opinions instead of answers. Q: How do I do X extremely specific thing that I need because I have an unusual case that needs this specific thing. A (top voted): Why would you want to d

Haha, no, I am one of those annoyingly generic users. But honestly I kind of expect them to block that. That seems pretty suspicious at first glance.

Wow, I was just reminded the Ursula Le Guin died which in turn reminded me that Diana Wynne Jones also died not too long ago. Bittersweet, but at least serves as a reminder to go and re-read a couple favorites.

It is funny how people always seem to represent this as the entire city going down in flames. Sometimes cities grow. It happens. But the hole in the wall bars and auto shops and whatever don't stop existing, they just change neighborho

You know, paypal may well suck. I have never used it as a developer or a seller, but I really, really, like to have it as an option when I am purchasing something from some rinky dink website that doesn't look like it has been updated

I think a lot of people agree with the sentiment. Most of the points here are ones that have been hashed and rehashed countless times in various blog posts and whatnot. People just tend to write code first, and only worry about optimization

Yeah, seems like you have the right idea, for arrays. So if you think about a hash table, (a very simple one) that is just a big array, paired with a function that turns keys into indices. So you would define your function. It would spit ou

I don't think you have used a Mac recently then. When you plug headphones in, the sound outputs through the headphones. And it works if the computer was off when you plugged them in. Or asleep. Or closed. I probably care way to much ab

Haha, how have you managed to avoid Linux re-installs? I almost always eventually break something horribly while tinkering. Always my fault, but still requires a reinstall.

I mean, unless you have an incredibly high end printer nobody expects 3d printed parts to come out perfect. As far as I can tell, you pretty much always need to to some hand fitting afterwards. My part time job in highschool involved buildi

Android + Facebook is a bad combination at the moment. I don't believe this can happen on iOS which doesn't even have an option to allow an (external) app to view things like text messages or call history.
