I've actually made the same decision, it's a ~80% remote position. But I got lucky, I ended up becoming lead developer. Can't say I'm completely happy with my hours, but I couldn't imagine not being home most of the

Fair enough, I'm definitely taking less risks. But I'm also a lot more ambitious to improve as a programmer, and I ended up getting better jobs and moving up the ladder as a result of this. Taking risks is not exactly a sure fire

Not really, it's a fairly limited approach. You can only block entire hosts. Adblock Plus uses a combination of URL-based resource blocking and CSS-based element hiding.

I guess we'll never get this horrible metaphor out of software development, but I keep trying: It's not _reinventing_ the wheel. The wheel is an old concept, so are blogs. This is a new/different implementation of that wheel.

I very much feel the same. But to be fair, with Australis, the whole "widgets" thing is new, and I really like how Firefox and add-ons can both use it in the same way.

Agreed. Mandatory curlies might have helped avoid disaster here, but the code in question is still utter rubbish. If blatant nonsense makes it past review (or if there is no review), no coding style rule in the world is going to help.
