Well, what's a tool? I would say: 1. It solves a problem. Doesn't have to be a completely unsolved problem, can just be a new solution. Or even just new packaging on an old solution. But it needs to solve some kind of problem. 2.

I've seen a number of startups who are stuck on .NET Framework, simply because some affordable agency built them an MVP with ASP.NET a while ago and it worked (TM) to get the business going. Then someone like me gets called into a situ

It's a good move. Cash flow is king in most businesses, so pretty universally, if you increase the risk or even just the timeline of cash payouts, you get more. It's an excellent negotiation dimension for anything involving money

I can sort of relate. If you hire an expert, you need to trust them. If you don't like what they say, you're inclined to want a second opinion. Now you need to pay two experts, which is often not reasonable financially, or problem

My solution is to _only_ chat. No auto completion, nothing agentic, just chats. If it goes off the rails, restart the conversation. I have the chat window in my "IDE" (well, Emacs) and though it can add entire files as context and

There are some gotchas, like how it can take a while (8 weeks for me last year) to get your tax number, and some (or perhaps most/all?) banks don't issue a credit card if your business account hasn't existed for at least six
