Greenfield developers look at me funny when I say we should just use Spring or .net for new projects. I actually have to maintain my projects for years, and I've been burnt many times before.

I switched to FF nightly after reading a comment here in HN. I had tried FF stable with electrolysis and still went back to chrome. FF nightly is SERIOUSLY fast and snappy, like ridiculously so. I recommend it to everyone.

I'll take battery life over QHD for my laptops. honestly most of the time I can't even see the difference. PPI wise FHD at 15" is almost same as my 2k 32" ultra wide at my desktop, and I'm supremely happy with it.

Interesting, in a short position you already sold the borrowed BTC, you aren't really holding the BTC. So you wont get 1 BCC out of it, only whoever you sold it to. But whoever lent the BTC would most likely want the BTC + BCC they are

Why wouldn't 100GB tables be in a single machine? It's not that much data. I'm comfortably running a 3TB table on PostgreSQL, which is growing at a rate of about 75GB a month. The machine isn't even that beefy, 128 GB of

At least in the USA it is in no way FU money unless you are over 60 or something. Assuming you invested it all and didn't spend a single cent, that's 12K a year from interest (generous 7%). You can probably spend 30-40K for 30 yea

I use a similar setup. I use spideroak hive since its 'zero knowledge', I don't however sync any binary or IDE directories. This allows me to have the source files and git repos synced, but still keep somewhat independent se

I'm a big fan of Spideroak Hive.I mostly use it to sync my work files (everything except source code) between my desktop and laptop. I really like the fact that the files are encrypted and according to them can't be retrieved with

All the brands you mentioned are owned by the same company, luxotica. Even some knock off brands (piranha and the like) are owned and manufactured by them.

I totally agree. People are more likely to pay to read the news they are biased to. So all forms of media have a high incentive to bias their content towards their consumer's point of view.

Yeah, I don't usually cross shop renewals. I just renew whatever I have, unless the premium increase is considerable (+15-20%). I might be leaving a lot of money on the table, and I'm not even that wealthy, but it's just not

I like the leaner frameworks more (dropwizard, jooby and ilk), but spring security is hard to beat for authentication and authorization. I still default to spring for any public facing apps or sites.

Why would they return it? Backing something is like an early purchase with risk and discount built into it. You are not an investor. All you are ethically owed (and not even legally) is the game with the stretch goals you backed. If they b

Vim mode in VS Code kinda sucks though. Not nearly as good as the ones found in IntelliJ IDEA or Visual Studio. Once it gets better I'll probably switch to VS Code for my standard text editor though.
