The comparison isn't apples to apples though. You'd have to setup bcache or dm-cache with the NVMe drive in front of XFS to compare ZFS with L2ARC on a NVMe drive. This is stated in the article as an exotic technology, but bcache

You can find automatic tags for around 1k. I know it's not the Omega, Rolex, Patek, etc, but it is considered luxury by many.

In my opinion, the simplest (and fairest) solution would be for municipalities to lay down the fiber itself, including last mile connectivity (paid for by whoever develops the land), and the city simply Rents out the fiber to any company in

That's not how it works. If a vulnerability is found in the service, and you don't need external access, blocking it from the firewall/router essentially blocks the vulnerability. In your scenario, with a public facing servic

One thing I've learned is that the user's complaint is always valid, the user's proposals seldom are. That is to say, users know when they don't like something, but they are often wrong about why they dislike it or what

If you have the seed and the algorithm for the PRNG before the random number is drawn, then anyone can calculate it and pick the number. The seed would have to be picked as the number is drawn if the system is public.

Have you tried the Windows Subsystem for Linux? I've found it to be great. Since I basically use Linux for either python development or server administration, a full linux shell is basically all I need to fulfill my linux needs.

That's the whole point of an HSM... A somewhat tamper resistant device that executes all encryption operations. You give it the hash and a reference to the the key, and it returns the signed data.

Reduced index size is the most important one, IMHO. Once your indices are larger than than your available memory, write and read performance plummets. This obviously only applies to fairly large tables, but in our case it will be a godsend.

This is a joint venture against Nvidia basically. ML is the next big thing, and Nvidia has smartly positioned GPUs as the best way to do ML. AMD needs to claw back marketshare from Nvidia, and partnering with Intel is a quick way to do it.
