One suspects GP may have been asking "why is it in Italian, do you think?" and not "what makes you think it's in Italian?".

I don't know why everyone's piling on GP here. This isn't abandonware, the game is still being distributed by a company that still operates. And TFA author isn't distributing a mod or a patch, they're distributing t

There is some self-reference, but I suppose I always saw that as fan service. Later in their careers FT did a lot of live shows, where die-hard audiences would call-and-response the famous lines, so to me the presence of self-referential ga

Word to the wise: TFA overlooks this, but Firesign Theatre's humor didn't end in the seventies. Probably my FT favorite album is Give Me Immortality or Give Me Death , which came out in 1998 and is their darkly optimistic take on

Yes, as I said. If you can't have a spectator do the counting then I think most magicians wouldn't refer to it as ACAAN. In your video the person counting is definitely not a stooge (he's a celebrity named Alistair McGowan).

When magicians talk about ACAAN it's assumed that the deal/count is done fairly by a spectator. Without that it would be considered a false count trick (of which there are of course many).

We're talking about the numbers that show up in the results of a lighthouse "performance" test. The overall score, total blocking time, time to interactive, etc. The spreadsheet has columns for all those values, and it shows

That's the data I asked about. That data shows SFGate repeatedly getting a 1, but when I try the same test it gets 55-60?

How is that data compiled? Just poking around, the worst site in the list (SFGate) seems to have gotten a "1" for performance every time it's been tested, but when I try checking the same link in lighthouse (mobile mode) it s

Sorry, but I don't follow what you're disagreeing with. For the numeric stems there are two systems, and one learns which to use when, as I said. For the sound change, I didn't say it was "regular" (and I don't

I don't think it's as complicated as you're describing. There are just two systems; the regular case with regular numbers, and irregular cases using hito/futa/etc. One has to learn which counters use which system, b

In Japanese, character input is basically 100% about readings. As such TFA isn't analogous to an IME, it's just an informational reference for looking up unfamiliar characters. If you wanted to type the character, you'd proba

It's not a reading->kanji search, it's a part->whole search. I.e. search for 人 and one of the results will be 囚 since it has 人 in it.

"TFA" is a common usage on HN just to neutrally mean "the article that this comment page is about". It doesn't by itself imply "RTFA".
