Leafs are cheap, but have awful battery degradation because of the poor design decision not to actively cool the battery pack.

Microsoft have effectively bought their way into OpenAI. The fact Google have done LaMDA on their own gives them a great starting point to compete. OpenAI could just be another Netscape.

My kids, ages 8 and 6 walk 2 km home from school on their own. New Zealand, largest city. It's definitely fairly normal here. It's hard to fathom that this could be considered illegal.

A great stereo system. Expensive, but it gets used every day and music sounds fantastic on it, and it will easily last 20+ years (my last one did).

I guess electrolysis of hydrogen from water isn't really a very efficient process so would therefore need a lot of energy. It's the same reason that we're not all driving around in hydrogen powered cars.

Some interesting parallels with automotive industry here. Cisco saw huge valuation base on a perceived future. Nortel (who were more of an incumbent) also saw massive stock price increases at that time. Only one of these two companies survi

Surely many of these improvements are simply due to the Sony Exmor sensor? HDR processing is only really possible when you have fast (and full resolution) burst mode available on the sensor.
