I just saw bluray rips of the same show on Usenet. x264 = 2.5GB, x265 = 600MB. I'm not certain the scene releasers with reputations to maintain are going to release terrible quality rips.

Correct, unless you have a very specific VM configuration where you are truly dedicating a CPU/core to a VM, it's not fit for being an NTP server.

This is an odd statement. I'm not aware of Linus ever being contracted to port video games to Linux. The Quake 3 Linux port was originally worked on by Loki Software, and then when they went out of business it was handled by Timothee B

Oracle Java has patches for things that OpenJDK doesn't. That's the real bummer, as it causes behavior differences and makes migration away from Oracle JDK impossible sometimes.

It's only 32bit. This is not something I'm interested in funding. If it was 64bit or the 128bit version of RISC-V it would be more alluring.
