Here's another anecdote for the train! Quit smoking in about 1 month from vaping, and that was 2-3 years ago. It's an awesome hobby, I have great stamina, and I can taste food. For the last year or so I've been riding a bike

Foundation 4 user here. The only benefit bootstrap has over foundation (imo) is the huge number of plugins that already exist. I had to adapt datepicker, xeditable, datatables.js (the worst offender), etc in order to play nice with F4. Asid

ORM's are for basic CRUD crap. SQL is for queries that matter. My ORM usage is almost entirely limited to: get this record, change these values, save it. Anything involving complex joins/ unions gets thrown to raw SQL. Better yet,

I had the exact same assumption. The ridicule risk is both a good and bad thing. Good: You better write good code, and the public shaming is a pretty great motivator. Bad: I have a lot of code that has never seen the light of day because I

I do this right now in the US. Straight talk monthly plans (bought 3 months ahead, service has been great so far) + nexus 4 with an ATT sim. $45/month for the unlimited plan, $200 for the phone.

DRM isn't even going to prevent netflix ripping. All you need is FRAPS, or some other high quality screencap software running while watching. It's not ideal by any means, however still circumvents any sort of protection.

I've been a pretty hardcore PHP guy for 3 years now, and know exactly how long it would have taken me to do all of this: probably 200 days on my own. My biggest issue is stuff like this. Take a look at the JS from day 1-8, then look at

There is a point to be made about learning how to use a framework up to the point where you're not relying too heavily on it. I use Yii, for example, and pretty much only utilize permissions filtering, routing, view management, and AR.
