In multilingual text, a foreign word/phrase/snippet is often shown between << and >>. Not always, but often enough that it's an informal standard.

I've found that to be pretty common. I guess sites don't want to risk you losing your hardware and then not having a backup method.

If you're running a Web etc app, you can always run a STUN server too. It's not perfect but it's a step in the right direction. I'd love to see a pool of STUN servers available for this, with some randomization.

I see this all the time in well-intentioned "agile" projects. They fail to fully understand the domain and then micro optimisations like this lead to features breaking in interesting and unexpected ways.

How exactly do you think Facebook are telling me this lie? You realize that I am speaking from experience not hypothetically; I don't have Facebook and there's been a marked decrease in both the number and frequency of messages fr

I did just that and it's surprisingly heart warming to know my site could run on a calculator if need be. No JS, no tracking, no nonsense. 100% content.

For traded companies, the stock price usually takes a bit when this happens. That put a fire under their ass even if loosing a load of money doesn't.

Dark mode is actually a CSS property and can be implemented by webpages directly. I use FF daily and it uses darkmode in sites that respect my system settings, because I have my system set to darkmode. I use a Mac. Darkmode is a native feat

You shouldn't need to jump through hoops of you're not already running the _next_ beta. I believe there's a beta switch in the general settings menu.

It's a real shame that FF isn't on feature parity with Chrome in some ways, but 7% is not "practically nobody". With Chrome, Edge, Opera, and Brave all running on Chrome, we're getting awfuly close to a browser mono

Yes. If "do everything in their power" includes crippling global resources. Of the US did this to the regular internet, the rest of the world would be pissed.

But a union doesn't have to set a price for work. And the company can often hire outside of the union if they want (many are opt-in for employees). Moreover, the free market still has checks and measures to ensure workers are treated f

That's not always the case though. There's plenty of industries and workplaces the world over that benefit from unions whilst still maintaining the discretion to hire who they will. I've worked in a company with both union an
