Dark mode is actually a CSS property and can be implemented by webpages directly.
I use FF daily and it uses darkmode in sites that respect my system settings, because I have my system set to darkmode.
I use a Mac. Darkmode is a native feature.

I want the browser to provide a dark mode that work in all cases, therefore: - if webpages advertise a support of dark mode, oblige them - if they don't, invert colors and use any other tricks as required On Linux, Edge is the safest and the simplest way to always have a dark mode everywhere.
