Selfishly, this will be a minor win for me. I occasionally like to try indie games from itch. For safety reasons, these are obviously run inside a VM. Unity games have always run like garbage on this setup, so the more developers migrating

Is there really any alternative? Data migrations are always going to be terrible. You need to slowly roll out the incremental changes so that everything is backwards compatible until you the threshold point where you can finally delete the

Why do you hate capitalism? Not engaging in monthly services, consuming additional ads, or letting Apple sniff your data in the cloud. I too am saddened by what feels like a deliberate tactic to further cripple the already locked down cable

That's a cute trick with the ATOM feed content-type. Simple idea, that probably(?) will not trip up any dedicated readers, but makes a nice usability win.

Eukaryotic cell is such a bonkers insane development, I definitely lean towards the impossibly lucky scenario. There was no need for that to be the origin story of a mitochondria like organelle ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki

Could they expand this to the other garbage software suites hardware companies get to auto-install? I plugged a Logitech mouse into my work laptop, and Windows helpfully installed a Logitech control utility. Lacking admin, I cannot disable

I guess we should rewrite it in Rust. Airplane logistics feels like one of the most complicated systems running today. A single airline has to track millions of entities: planes, parts, engineers, luggage, cargo, passengers, pilots, gate ag

Airport software predates basically every standard on the planet. I would not be surprised to learn that they have their own bizarro world implementation of ASCII, unix epoch time, etc.

Throwing a loop of numbers on the end seems far more feasible. I put together a hasty Python implementation which can immediately find three hits at 5 characters. TQDM is reporting ~450k tries per second, so depending on how lucky you are,
