Liquid nitrogen costs less than a $1/liter. Not sure what kind of reservoir volume they are talking, but indeed talking peanuts in comparison to everything else. The salary of the guy who has to maintain the cooling is going to be more

Just that providers of flac are few and far between. The only reliable source of flac files are those you make yourself.

It seems the world made a collective yawn about flac. Hard to imagine that would change much with a new format. I personally keep everything in flac, but Bandcamp is seemingly the only service where that is a given.

I feel similarly. Switching ports is no real defense, but it at least means you are eliminating the drive-by attacks who are only interested in the trivially exploited. Such a simple thing to do and sharply reduces the log volume. The next

Practically, how much real world value is there going to be? I assume all the big nations spy on each other. Have a very good idea on the broad strokes total number of personnel, planes, ships, bombs, and where they are all located. Potenti

At least right now, there is a literal add_watermark function, so probably easy enough to remove that surface level. Unless they added something cute to the training data to poison the well. https://github.com/myshell-ai

Thanks for the real example. Sounded quite generated to my ear as well. Wonder if it can do any better with more source material.

I use DBeaver, and I know I have received messages of this type when I try to run mutations without a WHERE. Maybe the author had previously disabled this check? I also configure databases to be "Production" within DBeaver, which

I have been burned by this DBeaver behavior before. Nothing so destructive, but yeah not great. For "more serious" commands, I try to force myself to highlight the command, but should really investigate if there is a way to enable

That is a hilarious failure mode. I can imagine how it first happened, but to ignore it forever is bonkers. Yet another data point for me that these huge companies just make too much money. Too insulated from the impact of bad decisions

At one point, I thought Feather did not carry any long-term format guarantees. Presumably that has now changed, but I still feel like Parquet is the best future proof option on the table.

I do have the backup codes, though I read an anecdote from someone where Google refused to accept the backup code. Because of course they can do that. Email is just so sticky, it is really hard to make the switch, but I know that it just ta

Isn't this solved by POE? For an office building which already has extensive electrical/networking/plumbing needs, pulling one dedicated wire for a robust networking connection seems worth it.

Not sure it had to be a state operation. The attack could have been done by just a handful of guys with practically no funding. The pipe is not that deep underwater and would not require much incentive to blow.

Surely the most secure would have to be a server written in a memory safe language? While you can do stupid things in any language, I would jump to Caddy (Go) or a Rust based toolkit before anything written in C.

That was painful to read. Logging definitely rates as the least favorite module I have to regularly use. The Java ancestry is obvious, and making some free incremental improvements should have been done a decade ago.

Never made a game, but I have used this resource for many a graphical stand-in when prototyping some internal applications. Nothing more permanent than a temporary solution, so many of these icons are still used well after the MVP.

Not sure I would go that far. APIs need to be able to be deprecated as better forms are identified. That being said, the churn had better be worth it. This datetime change does not qualify, and feels like it is going to cause more immediate

+1 to that. It is like the ML people went out of their way to co-opt existing statistical terminology with a slightly different spin to completely muddle the waters.
