There needs to be a line somewhere that says, "if you use a widely permissive license, we will use your IP to make money for ourselves" or something like that, then, right? That's what I want. To find that line.

That's what I'm looking for. The source - but more so the exact words - that says they're legally allowed to do that. Because even if it's publicly viewable, it's still my intellectual property. I want to read the p

Nope, looks like I missed that. My mistake. So what part of the github terms gives them permission to sell my IP back to me through copilot?

Not only is it not more reliable than your own server, using them launders your IP through copilot which they then sell to you and your competitors.

Thank you, I missed that part. As I asked elsewhere, where is the part of these agreements that permits them to profit off my IP through copilot?

It's a website. No matter what you call it, the end result is it's a website. Some HTML and a gif or two. Maybe a bit of javascript. Why are you making it so ludicrously complicated?

Symapthy, is more like it. Theyve been convinced by the cloud rental services that it's different now and too hard, when it's really not because all that SaaS is still running on a webserver. There's just a new gate keeper wi

Starting a db on a web-server and running apt update/upgrade are fundamental parts of working on the web. If you or any of your developers don't know how to do that, you/they should seriously seriously spend the 40 minutes it

A lot of the messages that are valuable exist as regular idioms that are pretty simple. 'Don't believe everything you read.' for example is only a few ideas away from 'the government, media and corporations are manipulat

You can use Firefox on both desktop and mobile and sync it all. At least if your mobile is Android or Linux. And you can use ublock origin, too!

You shouldn't dox yourself by answering this, but I sure wish you could tell us which company is giving double digit raises every year... I'm over here languishing at less than 2% at best, having to leave every year or so just to

I use it sometimes. Works quite well and has a nice icon. I also sometimes use Mull on Android. Its nice that there's some variety these days, even if they're just config differences. Choice is nice.

I want to agree with you, deeply, but the number of people who fall for simple PR/advertising in today's world suggests otherwise. I think we'd have a chance if they taught PR tricks in schools starting at a young age. Or at

Github is Microsoft. Microsoft has called your work cancer and spent several decades trying to undermine and destroy it. Doesn't it bother you that days after they start directly profiting off your work through copilot that they attemp

Brazil is everything. I've never seen Delicatessen but if it's like these other films, I'll check it out. Anything I need to know (culturally, or whatever) to fully appreciate it?

As a slight aside, isn't it amazing that art exists? I like to just stand back and appreciate that humans both make and love art. And it's not one thing, it's so. many. things. I especially like that some people like some art

Thanks! Microsoft uses these platforms to advertise/promote. I don't like it. Advertising and PR are pollution. If Coca-Cola PR or big oil or the tobacco industry promoted on this website, I'd have a similar distaste for it.
