Please. I bought appl shares at $130 just 6 months ago. 6 months of gain is lost, not 3 years.

There doesn't seem to be any reason to fuel the fires of any intended or unintended conflict here. You know - high road and all.

It certainly seems a lot easier to get a huge valuation from Wall Street than from Sand Hill Road. A lot of these "mega-valuations" (zillow, ning, slide, etc) have gotten funding from PE, hedge, and investment houses instead of classic VC.

Agreed. Sometimes the same behavior, implemented with slightly different intentions, can have vastly different effects. nickb isn't far from a link spammer - he might very well be detected as one by a poor algorithm on a lesser site. Instea

Most people can't tell the difference between 1080p and 720p resolution at any normal home viewing size or viewing distance. The issue of compression is a bit more hard to answer, since all these formats all use the same codec. I have no id

Yes, but this still doesn't actually hurt the people that hold mortgages (the homeowners). Whether or not my bank can handle the fact that I'm about to foreclose has nothing to do with my ability to (not) pay.

I do this too. I'm convinced it's a vestigial habit of the "old" web, where it was very common to have a crazy img based background and text that you couldn't read. I found myself highlighting text on the web all the time just so I could ge
