You are assuming a non-founder CEO. I think he would agree that founder-CEOs are also a good predictor of success.

If you aren't blizzard, the subscription, big budget, PC MMO is a very difficult business to succeed in. It's basically impossible - there's such a huge time investment that most players are unlikely to play more than one game at a time. Pl

I have both - the chemex is a much cleaner cup of coffee but more difficult to produce a 'perfect' cup. As a benefit, it doesn't require a burr mill grinder - the key to a solid french press cup is consistent grind. But a french press cup b

The workspaces are dark because a lot of the work is very color sensitive. A good number of people can't have any ambient light around to do their jobs correctly.

I am so sick of people mixing up C and C++ when making this argument. I can think of thousands of reasons to use C. C is much like learning to drive a stickshift. C++ is an utterly broken language. It's just an exercise in bad compiler erro

Someday, one of the big studios will adopt blender internally instead of paying through the nose for Maya, and Blender will get really solid. Frankly, I'm surprised that medium sized studios haven't realized that working together on Blender

To Steve and Apple, it's not about bad press and good press. It's about CONTROL. And an anonymous writer posting to a blog pretending to be the man himself... well, that's the opposite of control.

I have a 7-month-old, and I believe that my wife has found the ideal care situation. She works, from home, part time. Hours are flexible, she can stay home with our daughter, and get most of her work done during naps or after I get home. I

I generally hate the meta-conversations about story quality and the necessity for a down-arrow - but this story was the most awful (and obvious flame-bait) story I've seen voted to #1.

Pixar success is all about the confluence of it's three major players. 1) Ed Catmull - He was the founder with the original vision and great technical skills. He also brings a humility to Pixar, hired only the smartest and best people, and

Doesn't matter. First thing you sign when you join a new employer is an agreement that says something like "I am not under any other company's non-compete". While this might not be enforceable, if you were a small company in a similar space
