I am proposing finding a non-compromising way to make just enough revenue to keep it going sustainably while remaining neutral. Monetization, non-compromosing and neutral have trouble playing nice with each other.

It's _not_ a one percent improvement (1%). That is mathematically incorrect. It's a one percentage point improvement. Wrong terminology is responsible for 95% of this thread.
