Framing people as “false info traffickers” sort of reveals to me that these researchers sort of do believe only one viewpoint should be allowed? They talk like military censors do during wartime, or political commissars.

When I read through all the subjective moral judgements I simply find that censoring users that promote a URL/person/view reduces its popularity.

The national do not call list isn’t effective so I can’t advocate for another one as a solution UNTIL the first implementation is fixed.

Tons of gamers are on 8gb because of mobile GPUs and becuase the only affordable 12gb GPU Nvidia has ever released is the 3060 which is a desktop GPU. I don’t honestly expect 12gb+ to become mainstream until 6000 series.

I honestly think that given the demands of 4K video specifically using potentially a few gigs of memory just for decoding, 8gb made a world of sense, but little has come out since that really needs all that much memory for the average perso

Awareness, transmission, what precisely is the difference? Sounds to me like mental health awareness campaigns are just another transmission vector. Do we have any reason to believe that “mental health awareness” doesn’t CAUSE mental illne

There is a rather strong correlation between the type of kid who would most benefit from this device, and the type of kid who is most likely to irresponsibly lose a phone. I'm imagining a child with ADHD who compulsively elopes.

The value and battery life aren’t there are the biggest issues. Not kidding when I say I think the device needs to double that runtime minimum.

I was about 3 years ahead of my peers in spatial reasoning and behind them socially. When I was a kid leaving me alone meant I was likely to wander long distances end up in a pool and drown. If anything I see this as enabling parents to ke

Generally, when sentiment doesn’t match the statistics, it indicates that you’re gathering the data wrong more than it indicates mass public hysteria. Not that mass public hysteria does not happen. They’re measuring economic productivity b

I recall think the very time the lockdowns started “this won’t just be 2 weeks, I don’t know if this is even justified or just an example of a bias towards looking like one is doing something” straight away. That was how things started. W

I'm well aware of this and in those sorts of jobs, most of the work isn't programming, it's sitting in meetings and communicating. While AI might help with this simply by shrinking the amount of people needed to do a job, I&

My impression is that AI has done more for the accessibility of coding than the efficiency of coding. Sure, it's much more possible for bob from accounting to throw together some trivial python script than it was a few years ago, but i
