I thought it was moderately well known. A couple of decades ago a friend would take some red candy when hiking as it could give her (at least the feeling of) a significant short-term energy boost if needed, more than just regular sugar woul

Yeah, I also sit in this grey area. I think the maximum is 10 per domain or so, and last I checked, I'd had 11 or 12 leaked, so I can no longer see them. It's unfortunate though I don't know an easy solution that allows both

Fwiw, you can set (on Android at least) the language of Google Maps independently of the rest of the system. I also have my phone set to English, but maps set to Dutch because otherwise the reading out of street names can be incomprehensibl

That's interesting to me. From my perspective, I didn't find Duolingo great, but it did give me some vocab and basic sentences, and left me feeling more competent than I actually ended up being once I was living where they speak t

In NL AH for me it seems to come in waves. For a while I'll be checked every other time, and then not at all for some time. This could just be me seeing patterns where they aren't though, perhaps I should track it for curiosity.

Interesting, where I lived (NZ), "coke" was the typical term for Coca-Cola (not generic soda, but you may be asked if Pepsi is OK), however in NL where I live now it's pretty universally "cola", and I think that

It depends what you're trying to defend against. The rotation hinders associating an address with a particular device. If someone looks at the network prefix to see if people are in the same household, then that's exactly the same

They did, at the last moment they released a version of the app that could be repointed to alternative servers, in this case the rebble.io ones. Without them doing that, it'd be a lot less useful.

There have been community-run services going since Pebble shut down. My pebble behaves as though nothing changed to this day, except the lack of new features being released.

For at least months in my city, the screens in buses have been showing a "broken image" icon as part of their ad cycle. I'd much rather know about the next stop.

Nothing* does mass storage these days, because you a) don't want to run your filesystem as FAT32, b) have two devices mounting one disk at the same time. But anyway, you don't have to hack anything, they literally give you all the

the reMarkable lets you upload PDFs and then you can write on them, so perhaps it can do what you need. I was using mine a little while ago for a PDF-based RPG-type thing which involves a lot of writing on the PDF and it worked quite well (
