This is not generally true. Amazon is plagued by drop shippers now and as a result most of their solar junk is many years old warehouse stock. Harbor freight tends to be better. Ex: https://youtu.be/W-fgI6Kyy2I

So what is the value of the "proof of universality"? I'm a bit confused as to what the value pitch is when compared to xxhash3, for example, which runs ~twice as fast and has a large user base (it's used when hashing in

I'm fairly confident a coding specific model should be a lot smaller - 3b should be plenty if not 1b or less. As it stands, there are quite a few 7-13b model sizes that can predict natural language quite well. Code seems at its surface

You can create true "early return" behavior by writing a lazy computation builder [0]. It feels esoteric but taking the time to craft a domain specific computation builder can drastically simplify the rest of your code base. I don

What kind of madman tries to deploy pytorch? If it's a product, convert the finished model to onnx. Otherwise it's probably for a dev and you can tell them to have fun because installing all the gpu libs sucks no matter what. In t

I vaguely remember nuitka or pyinstaller being able to handle this for me, but I used vms or qemu to build them "natively" for each target platform. Never found a way to solve cross compiling.

Unless you have a way to manually control the focus, I doubt it. Tracking a tiny target like that above a magnet would confuse the auto focus on just about any camera. With manual focus and very steady hands, maybe? The best results I'

Their docs seem perpetually out of date, but they recently released support for 3.10. I haven't been able to try it recently because our projects use 3.10 features but in the past it was easily a 10-100x speedup as long as all the proj

I usually make a venv in ~/.venv and then activate it at the top of any python project. Makes it much easier to deal with dependencies when they're all in one place.

Mojo is vaporware for now, they still don't support classes. There are many other issues, but good luck finding a meaningful size python codebase with zero classes.

Playing rhythm games, I can easily feel ~3ms of input lag. However it's pretty easy to adapt even to 100-200ms of lag, so I'd say most people are in the audiophile placebo territory. I can hit a 5-8ms window reliably even with a t

Fyi, blake3 was released in 2019 and should probably be used over blake2 unless you have some strong reason not to. It's basically a reimplementation of blake2 with performance tweaks. https://github.com/BLAKE3-team
