I'd like to think there would be a way to turn it, but I'm fairly confident it isn't possible. With that much mechanical advantage, no material will stay together. I'm not sure whether the frame/axles will break fir

You included tdp but tdp /= actual electrical power. Intel approximates it from base clock (practically all consumer motherboards ignore the tdp/boost spec). AMD uses voodoo to calculate tdp, it's a pure marketing number with

It's outrageously low. They're also fancifully assuming cpu tdp = electrical power, cooling = 0w, and another 0w to the motherboard/network cards. And each box has 1 non-redundant, schmuck-grade $80 psu, as well as a consumer

What is "specificity" and do you have a source to back up your claim? (ie, if an individual is infected does it detect it 70% of the time? Or just a true negative 70% of the time? What about the chance of a false negative? A false

I thought the point was that they can't perfectly share information. So, they could both zero knowledge proof their way through "we share common knowledge" but be unable to directly prove it due to a halting problem. I agree

As with any big system, spinning it up is much harder than bringing it down. After an outage, they have to stay offline to audit their systems to ensure that all the nodes are synchronized, all queued trades have been processed, and no acco

I'm truly shocked how many resources are dedicated to maintaining a chat app that essentially just talks to an api. Seems like you could easily build and maintain a simple chat system with <5 developers. You wouldn't have shiny

Your basic assessment is correct, however, you're forgetting a key detail. Every journal I know of also charges the author a fee to submit papers. So the author pays to submit their work, volunteers review it, the author does correctio

You could also think of it as a "priority lane" for support. Pay nothing, get whoever for support. Pay $x, complaint goes to an engineer. Pay $y, the product manager. Etc. Skips the middleman process for customers that are in a ru

Yes, it's quite obvious when you actually have compute needs. At my current employer, we spent about 100k to build a small single purpose hpc. One year later, I calculated the azure costs (help bargain for more servers) would have been

10gbe will depend on the workload. In general, I'd assume it's fine because it takes a parallel raid setup to saturate. Upgrading to 100gbe is pretty unreasonable cost wise unless you buy network gear from a back alley van dealer.

Unstable clock speeds and power have zero relationship when you design the circuit. You can easily design something with a few transistors that will violate setup and hold times at 1-10mhz, which you can get out of a very low power crystal.

A fun thing that I haven't seen anyone try is to deliberately induce metastability into a small circuit. Anyone who's played with digital logic knows that underpowering/overclocking will lead to unpredictable behavior. Just b
