I can't help but hate that OLED has been replaced by LCD. I actually sold my Quest 2 and kept the 1 just because of this despite the 2 being better in virtually every other metric. I guess I'll have to wait and see how the 3 LCD

I toggle around with the idea that the system is designed or heavily influenced to be like this to benefit the big-industries and rich people. Have talent but need money? Work for big industry. Have money and can afford to stay in school? G

It's funny I'm being downvoted. Probably out of a sense that I'm ignorant. Yet I've worked on large data labeling teams. And if you think anyone outside of the military is paying for very large native English speaking te

Definitely the culture has changed as tech has become a mainstream career path. Also I think there used to be a sense of the "wild west" where you could push the boundaries while hacking and get away with it. Now someone smart eno

Within a few decades there will probably be technology that would allow a semi-dedicated person to engineer and create a vaccine or medical treatment from scratch if the code was available online. Do you think that's a good idea?

Your post conveniently ignores the current state of China's AI development but mentions Russia and North Korea. That's an interesting take. There's no guarantee that we are or will continue to be one or even two steps ahead.

Is military capable AI in the hands of few militaries safer than in the hands of many? Or is it more likely to be used to bully other countries who don't have it? If it is used to oppress, would we want the oppressed have access to it?
