So the big message is proxies are useful? I mean, sure. I'm not sure why Tor makes a better choice than anything else?

Our banks are horribly, horribly insecure. I use a credit card because we don't have a good way to use our banks.

I don't really want/need AR. I don't want a camera, I don't need object tracking, I do not need to augment what is in front of me. What I would buy today is glasses that allowed an overlay. Give me a screen and an API an

This sounds fairly doable. Rust pseudocode: ``` // Traits for the operations you want to perform... trait Map<K,V> { ... operations ... } trait List<K,V> { ... operations ... } // Functions which dispatch f

I need a refresher on this. What other forms of debt, if any, are paid out before these notes? What kinds of things would dilute the value of the note?

Seems like the liability should also be on Copilot itself , as a derivative work.

note: it has been the default on python for some time, then made official (instead of an implementation detail) after some 3.x release. 3.7 maybe?

Alright, I'm confused. How does this square with Hawking radiation? How can a black hole shrink without shrinking? The article mentions both in the context that they are reconciled but not how they are reconciled.

It doesnt really matter. Temperature and weather variance exist, there will always be extreme weather events on record, but wildly temporally disparately. A million locations, a million draws from a random distributuon, a few of them are go

At my previous job when it was relevant, I wrote something in house. A higher order component would pick which variant at runtime (cause we had problems with SSR, or that would be more appropriate). Cached the picks in cookies. In house cha

There were a 100M Native Americans just a few years before Europeans arrived. They mostly died to a plague, but there were cities with millions.

In some sense, it might not matter. If an ASN/company admin responds to emails in a hostile fashion, does it matter if they bought their devices in good faith? They're still assholes.

That's a related but somewhat different point. 1. I don't want to feel bad for giving commands to my machine. For avoiding niceties. This is not talking about slurs, etc, but not saying 'please' or some such. 2. I agree

It makes memory, not compute, the limit. It halves the exponent on the number of operations. 2^128 - reasonably secure by todays standards! 2^64 - horribly insecure. (CAVEAT: where the speedup is applicable, which is often hard.)

This post makes me feel weird. Because I don't want to be forced to put on niceties for an inanimate object. I want to order my device around. Not as a power trip, but simply because it's a device, whose function is to complete c
