You might be able to get partway there by setting up thunderbolt networking between two endpoints. The caveat is that USB 4.x is still new enough it may require a significant time sink to get working at ~40Gbps et al, so your testing wouldn

Very very technically, if RDP is enabled and working, this could be fixed by rdesktop-ing to the machine from a Linux box and using xdotool to experiment with typing raw keyboard scancodes through the RDP session in the hope you figure out

How does this work in terms of UI? Obviously if there are windows on the screen that clearly doesn't make sense. Does this just apply to applications that are technically running but don't have any windows open? Kinda makes sense

Browsers don't have a bookmark API that lets you rewrite the contents of bookmarklets et al. How did it rewrite itself? Also, are you referring to something like a Jupyter notebook?
