It's a shame what this world has come to. A part of me wanted to dive right into the witch hunt and hoped that the BBC would have posted the actual name of the academic, but then I realized that I was getting sucked into the exact same

That's a really good point. While I would like to see the online platform/publishers be held more accountable, in this instance I don't see how the EU can do that without inevitably leading to the scenario that you talk about

I cannot conceive of a "stronger" explanation for what the GP stated. What kind of good faith argument could possibly be assumed in that guy asking that maybe reexamining Redline laws isn't the worst thing. It's a vile

Not at all. It wasn't a comment on how well they manage it but both Mint and Ubuntu seek to work "out of the box" to the greatest extent possible. In my opinion, they do it much better than any other distro.

I'll take the armchair anthropologist bait. It's rampant because there are so many of us. If you see a homeless man rotting away, your heart goes out to him. If you see ten thousand of them, then...meh. Human empathy is finite unf

First of all, I disagree that people _want_ to put furry cases on their phones. Too many people have walked around for too long with giant cracks on their screens that they've realised it's better to slap on a case, even with the

Did you read the rest of the article? It's very well explained, and makes some really good points. Of course they're biased towards one factor above all else: repairability. It's right there in the name of the company! But ca

Trouble is there are many people, me included, who would never just walk into a store and buy something. If I'm about to buy something (and there are no limits to how trivial that thing may be), chances are I've done some research

What a myopic comment, and dripping with unwarranted vitriol. The world absolutely _should_ work that way. Companies _should_ have half a brain to realise that selling bottled water is bad for the environment, that fracking causes earthquak

What's with the snark? At worst, OP can reject the suggestion and choose for himself. At best, he sees a different perspective. I didn't get any negativity from the parent's comment, just a suggestion.
