If anyone wants to gather empirical data, my current collection (in Oakland) is 10 AN/TVS-3 and 6 SEL-10 (10kW air-cooled short arc 30" reflector 60Hz power), the 3 other collectors I know of are in Texas, North Carolina and Maine

Unfortunately not repairable. Failure modes: cathode melts, gap gets larger, unstable arc; anode melts or cracks, possible catastrophic failure; seals (uranium glass) to tungsten leak, xenon bleeds out; envelope fractures, catastrophic fail
