This technique could pair nicely with another problem we have- storing solar power. In theory, you could build a system which uses solar power to mine bitcoin during the day, and store that heat somewhere (like an underground tank of water)

What does this change in practice? Are contributors expected to do anything? Does the license or source code need to reference the DCO? The contribution guidelines have not been updated. They still mention the CLA: https://gitlab

Most people would happily plug a random USB stick off the street into their computer. Personally, I would avoid plugging in random dongles- unless my curiosity got the better of me. This unemployed London man clearly knows his shit- he plug

I’m so excited to see a new open source graphql solution. (This is GraphuckingAwesome!) Out of curiosity, why did you decide to build your own graph database, rather than use Postgres or some other mature solution? Edit: Oops, I didn't

IANAL, but it seems that yes Google could be in trouble there, assuming that the Excel EULA prohibits reverse engineering, and also assuming that Google did actually use Excel to compare the behavior of opening different files. It also depe

I reluctantly agree. Apple has a bunch of dirty practices that makes me thing twice about buying their products, but their market position does incentivize them to protect my privacy. In contrast, Google is incentivized to provide a thick p

I think its pretty short-sighted to say that ICO craze will not result in economic growth. As one early example, take a look at the Ethereum DAO, which allows arbitrary investors to participate in opportunities that may not otherwise exist.

As I understand, EME is the only w3c recommendation that forces web browsers to run proprietary black-box code. I am a proponent of the open web, so I view this standard as a big step in the wrong direction.
