Very true, but as the recipients we risk misunderstanding rude and intimidating behavior as strength or stubbornness as confidence. When we elevate and accept these behaviors we all lose.

I think the majority like the idea but surprised there isn't a financial effort from the prison and associated industries to fight the idea. If it works though, it's a huge win for getting minor offenders out of concrete cages.

The OpEd reads more like a speech. I'd assume there are some publicly available speeches (or videos with subtitles) that can be analysed instead. Some articles mention that anonymous sources specifically take note of the speech pattern
