It doesn't try to solve the same use cases that Calibre does, but I built an open source (EPUB only) manager / reader / statistics tracker called AnthoLume [0]. It mostly stemmed from me reading in KOReader [1] on my Kindle,

Well it's live, so you can throw a YouTube URL into it right now and get an auto generated article from GPT-3.5 in about 15 seconds. The items on the site right now are myself / others using it. Depends on the video length, but ea

Coincidentally I threw something together this weekend that attempts to do just that. [0] It's really simple - just extracts subtitles and feeds it to ChatGPT to generate a markdown "article". [0] https://vreader.v

So I have an Apple TV 4K, but I don't use the official client. I use Infuse. The Apple TV 4K does not support DTS passthrough, but Infuse will decode DTS on the device itself and pass it through to the receiver as uncompressed lossless

It should. Looks like it uses OpenCore. I’ve got a hackintosh HP micro running via OpenCore and it all works including iMessage, etc.

Doesn’t matter. Nolan’s vision specifically accounts for film. He’s been very vocal that the most accurate way to view the movie as he envisioned it is via 70mm IMAX. “For Nolan, the “best possible experience” to view “Oppenheimer” in theat

Exact reason why I think it should be illegal to own anything other than a Volvo XC90. It’s objectively the safest car, and anyone who purchases anything else is reckless and unethical.

I don’t think the parent post is proposing that Reddit should restrict access to their own mobile app. They’re proposing that if you want to use a third party app, then put that behind “Reddit Premium+” or whatever. The average reddit user

Any site that has a half decent Content Security Policy would prevent this. (You can try on HN, GitHub, etc and it fails) However it may work as a UserScript depending on the UserScript engine.

I completely excluded the GTI and Golf R from my recent car buying experience because of this. Bought a Mazda 3 Turbo because Mazda seems to actually give a damn about UX with respect to safety.

Built a service and web app that listens to Frigate car events via MQTT. It analyzes the video and image to determine the make and model, as well as OCR the plate. Uses some fuzzy matching logic in an attempt to match it to a historical veh

Hah I did something similar. Took an old Kindle and jailbroke it. It runs a script that will wake it up and refresh every half hour. It pulls down images of my google calendar from a small app I wrote that runs in my k8s cluster. I use shot

I had the NULL plate in Arkansas for a couple years around 2016-2017. Fortunately didn’t run into any issues (as far as I can tell…). Never did get an EZPass violation that I thought I should have received, though…

I just picked up a new Mazda 3 Turbo, and absolutely _love_ the dial interface. It took a little bit to get used to, but the muscle memory is now there and I can do most everything while barely even glancing at the screen. I have the touch
