I wrote once document detection library. It was supposed to recognize corners of a printout in a photo. Is that close? EDIT: you could send me example images and what you need from them. I could check how much I would need to extend it to h

I remember on a few occasions staring puzzled at some script at work, which was taking a lot more time to run, than normally. Like an hour instead of few minutes. I remember also, that coworkers had the same issue. One of them left work onc

I wouldn't update the view matrix directly. Rather let the input events update one matrix and the game loop would copy it only once per frame. This way all the input events would be summarized in that matrix and the view would follow t

Hi! I have thought about the same issues as you described. I see this as an interaction between two parties: producer and consumer. If the producer is so slow, that the consumer manages to ask 1000s of times for a product before it's c

Ah, the typical presentation of what it is and not why it's useful. It's just that kind of library that solves a lot of problems, which people don't even know of (or do not want to). I have very little experience with Rx, but

Ok, so there are a lot less unintended side effects. I got that. What about the intended ones - how do You approach them? Let's say You've written a ClojureScript webapp using the Angular framework and you need to migrate it to V2

That sounds great! Can you explain in more detail or point at an example? How do you provide typing across modules? With type hints? eDSLs instead of APIs - not changing client code... This sounds a little too good to be true. :) Can you pr

Thank You for the answer! After I reread my own comment I realized it sounded much more harsh than I wanted. Good you were not put off by the tone. Sorry for that. I have to admit that my biggest pet peeve with working in Java projects are

I was trying to find time for Clojure, but I had always had doubts - exactly as the grandparent commenter... He touched upon what I think is essential. The biggest things to lose by giving up Java is the tooling. Using the IDE I have many p

Seems it might help in my current case... On my local dev machine I've replicated a project environment (Jenkins, Sonar, Artifactory, SCMManager). It was a huge boost for some tasks and I'm considering moving it out of my machine

So, my host is mostly Windows (work laptop comes with it normally and at home I like to play games a lot). The VM was VirtualBox. The Guest OS I always used was Ubuntu Desktop (I remember starting with around ~10.10).

Do You know of any good examples of how to do it? I was once considering creating a VM for each of my side projects, but unfortunately, I found they are tightly configured to the hosting environment! It's most probably my mistake, so m

That was my immediate thought as well. I can see few scenarios which could justify having the VM's. I'm also very wary about those "super productive" two other guys. One should at least consider that they unwillingly mak

At the beginning, Leslie explains why specification is important. He gave few convincing (me) examples and then introduced the idea of formal specifications. The formal specification allows you to find design bugs, before writing any code.
