That goes against my intuition, because the performance would be more impacted (beneficial to have an index) where you have very few bits set on a boolean field. If you have 10m users and 100 have "IsPremium = 1" then an index mas

What would you say to someone who is wondering if this is an attempt at a technical solution to a social problem?

I think I'll still be fuming about KSP2 for a long time. I don't know why I let myself have any hope it'd be good given the development history but I still bought (and returned) it on launch. KSP didn't deserve that.

If your point is that capitalism can't deliver something like Stack Overflow then I'm not sure the point does still stand, because clearly it could.

Wouldn't it be easy for cloudflare and other ~~WHOIS~~ DNS providers to just not propagate the .zip domain? Isn't it time to leverage what's left of the decentralisation of the web rather than beg google?

GPT is helping me write a D&D adventure. I'm not very creative so it helps me. If I don't like elements of the story it's very responsive to changing elements. It's surprisingly good at remembering earlier details. O

I absolutely trust my co-workers to not be overly pedantic and opinionated. If they were, I would raise it with my line manager and try to get the issue fed back to them. What kind of workplace do you not trust your coleagues to be reasonab

I think you misunderstood my comment, at no point did I suggest taking "cheap shots" at anyone, and indeed my advice was to focus on "the rest of the package" as you suggest.

I found the trick was to get a job in software development. That solved the problem of trying to find things to do, other people do that hard work and bring me requirements. They even pay me for it too! I don't know what you're af
