There's good reason it's in the standard. Many applications of computer science rely on being able to accurately measure time. Having every second increased by a non-trivial amount (~0.001%) on some days, and not on others, will p

I think Apple's problem is the very fact that they are trying to improve on their products, which are already considered top of the line. In doing so, they are putting out bad hardware / software choices that alienate existing use

Isn't WhatsApp widespread enough in your circles, as a IM replacement? I thought it was quite universal. Or is it a particular feature of iMessage that WhatsApp is missing?

This makes me wonder if the Linux drivers have been damaging my (several years old) MacBook Air speakers. The sound always seemed to be louder and more distorted in Linux than in OS X, but I have never tested the level with a microphone.

His point is that a lot of people have been and keep being sent to prison thanks to DNA testing and other methods, recently proven to be unreliable. Therefore falsifying the premise to the entire argument GP was replying to.

Maybe city planners should borrow some ideas from CS, namely how to handle destructive operations while maintaining O(1) average cost. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_array

Downvoted it for you. Greeks didn't scam anybody, on the contrary, they were scammed by EU leaders and bankers. After signing the EU pacts, there was little their politicians could do to avert the catastrophe (and what little they coul

I recently switched to Mint Cinnamon and I'm completely satisfied. There is not one thing I miss from Mac OS X and many where GNU/Linux is much better. As for mail, Thunderbird is not so bad.

Honestly Mail.app has been going downhill the past few years, much like the rest of the OS. 10.6 was stellar, 10.8 was meh, after that it went down the drain. I recently switched to Linux Mint (Cinnamon) and there is not a thing I miss. Thu
