Yikes. I had to stop using JetBrains software for similar reason (their autosave effectively conflicted with external git usage). This is inexcusable to me but to each their own.

As someone who uses a single password manager on my computer and phone, I don't see the problem with passkeys. I use Safari on both and I never even had to "set up" anything. I can see why they would be problematic for people

It's a key, what else do non-technical people need to know? Ironically on macOS we used to have an app called Keychain which unfortunately was effectively renamed to Passwords for non-technical users.

"Better" is subjective. I've been using iOS 27 beta and other than a few bugs it hasn't been that bad. I only had some minor downgrades in Safari UI, but those are minor and personal. One thing I hated was a downgrade in
