Because a short is a sale without actually having the stock for in possession. Combined with stock loaning and sufficient capital, it allows shorters to distort market pricing with something orthogonal to the core dynamics.

I think there's two things here. One is the case of the said underpricing. That's the theoretical role that short selling. The second is that it's a fantastic weapon to use against less sophisticated, less coordinated retail

Or a "suit" as per the typical wall street uniform, and blonde hair? I'd say you're heavily overfitting here.

Full agreement, but I think danudey's version captures it better than yours as it better captures the current ruleset incentivizing bad behavior. Screw them: Get stuff -> Net Positive Screw them, get caught: Return stuff -> Net 0

Personally, I feel like all those news orgs should be liable for something. Blatantly lying to a huge audience in an attempt to influence the market to me feels like blatant market manipulation, especially in time-sensitive situations. If a

It does, but as he said, only under ideal conditions. I.e.: No limits to bets and infinite base money. Both of which clearly don't exist.

I'm not sure which part of Asia you're in. Respected, perhaps. Not nearly on the same level as a doctor /lawyer /engineer, social status wise, but not horrible. Revered? I don't think I've seen this where I am.

Technically not. Shorts have a borrow fee, and if you trust the wsb guys on this number, the current borrow fee on gme is 80 percent per annum. So if I'm not getting anything wrong here, short sellers do have a bit of a clock.

Probably, genetic factors for health outcomes aren't exactly some tenuous link. Differential genetic composition of the various races has been shown repeatedly to affect anything from disease risk to drug response.

I'll put it the other way though, if you attribute it to any other artist, would the appeal be greatly reduced? Can the art stand alone and be great on its own merit rather than the borrowed fame of its creator?
