It went down at around 2239 GMT. I've not seen a hint on Twitter to suggest that it was a DDOS, though I guess that doesn't rule it out. @timweber: "So yes, it doesn't look too good. both internal and external DNS are down, by the sounds of

Whilst obviously I see it as ultimately down to parental discretion and judgement, I just don't understand the mindset that sees a parent buying their 12 year old child COD Black Ops.

Heck, I've been using this for months now and still sometimes have to check myself when I notice my colour temperature start to change.

That's true, but the original point was 'poor form', which this likely falls under also.

Quoting parts of the book to support some points made in the article would fall under fair use, but linking to a scan of the entire book would not.

Nope, that's the correct font; but I disagree with you about it looking awful.

Not even that. Sales of FPS titles on consoles easily dwarf those on PC (depending on the title, 3-10x).

But that (quite rightly) speaks of a new market for people willing to try some bird game on a whim: not a replacement for other gaming experiences that mobile is a long way from challenging. It's Nintendo's hold of the portable market with

Brilliant point. News organisations can really annoy me when they send reporters to the scene of an event just to do the same piece to camera that they could easily have back in the studio, and this is further compounded if they don't speak

I wonder if the networks' bureau size has any play in this. As large as Japan is, it wouldn't necessarily surprise me if a large part of the 400 staff were based out of London regularly and that the London office were a few times larger tha

As he said in the video, IE1/2 don't send a hosts header with their request and thus can't access most sites, ACID included. You'll have to download the test and all necessary files to a local disk in order to run it.

The best result of all of this is clearly that IE2 gets 93/100 in ACID3. Take that, Google Chrome!

It does seem a bit odd that all three major browser vendors are able to release interesting web-apps that only run at full-speed in their own browsers. Do they intentionally exploit some exclusive feature to show the other browsers up?

With respect to 1, 8GB is exceptionally generous for "internal" storage. Most phones, especially towards the low end, might not exceed 1GB or even 512MB. Even phones with a large internal storage (say, the Nexus S) will only have a small am

The other image, the logo, is probably generic enough that it's used elsewhere and a user is likely to have it cached. The other looks bespoke for this page, so wouldn't.

There are some numbers < 0.7% of the market that are not explicitly included on that page. Particularly Firefox 2, which still has about 0.25% of the overall market (0.8% of Firefox), and some older versions of Chrome.

From http://www.w3counter.com/globalstats.php , 87% of users are on Firefox 3.6 or newer, 95% 3.5 or newer and 99% on FF3 or newer. As fragmentation goes, that's not half bad.
