A lot of place also block it due to Yandex being full of spam accounts, even on custom domains. Not sure I'd ever trust something from them and would actively block their services.

The first load is fairly slow, but once it's done it every load after that is pretty much identical to what it'd be running on an x86 mac due to the caching it does.

Rosetta 1 and the PPC -> x86 move wasn't anywhere near as smooth, I recall countless problems with that switch. Rosetta 2 is a totally different experience, and so much better in every way.

It has been extremely smooth sailing. I moved my own mac over to it about a year ago, swapping a beefed up MPB for a budget friendly M1 Air (which has massively smashed it out the park performance wise, far better than I was expecting). Did

Chill the heck out, I was very obviously talking about the UK, and parts of Europe, not all of it. We don't all have politicised motivations or a desire to 'one up' continents.

I run my 16" Pro (M1 ultra) on a 35w power delivery from my monitor daily - its plenty even under a fair bit of workload. The 95w is only used in extreme circumstances. Even compiling and light video editing isn't going to use eno

Basically we need a Snow Leopard. That was by far the most rock solid release they've done in years. It included a few new features but was at it's core a massive performance and bug fix release. The fact that it was also released

The worst part of those questions is the responses they get. "Pick a server to sign up to, request an invite and wait, but if you want to follow someone in another server you need to go to this tool to work out what server they are on,

The reality is the average user could not give a crap who owns twitter, or what they do. They arent there for the owner, they're there because its a functioning social network.

If anyone seriously thinks Mastodon is going to become a replacement for Twitter they're deluded. The whole convoluted nature of it will put off average users. Nobody gives a crap that its decentralised yet they insist on shoving it do

It baffles me that a modern developed country has people even needing to question if tap water is safe. In the UK (and I dare say much of Europe) its not at all uncommon to ask for a tap water at a restaurant. I drink around 2 litres of tap

Out of curiosity what is a new competitor going to offer that the existing well established ones like DigitaoOcean, Vultr, etc arent?

Thanks, certainly will do :) Wasn't aware that proc was now supported!

I was referring to performance, not power consuption. Although as has been pointed out the M1 is vastly more power efficient than anything qualcom produces and they still don't come close to the performance levels.

The pi's still a pretty weak machine hardware wise. I imagine full fat Windows would be pretty rough to use which may be why it's not been done.

ARM on Windows will never take off if they keep relying on these silly inefficient mobile SOC's from qualcom. Really they need to be getting in bed with a company like Ampere who seem to be one of a select few developing high power ARM

Ew, why on earth would they lock that down to force you to use what is hands down the worst domain registrar out there?!

I experienced the same thing. I switched a couple of domains over to iCloud and within a week moved them elsewhere. I went from pracically no spam to hundreds of blatently obvious and easy to catch spam emails hitting the inboxes every day.

As a former indie dev I took no issue with Apple taking a chunk of my sales. They litterally created tens of thousands of dollars of income for me for a handful of very basic utility apps. Meanwhile over in the Google play store I didn&#x27

Sounds like your solution here is that companies should stop making products all together...

Airpods is probably the worst example of a disposable product. Still rocking my day 1 Pro's, meanwhile all those cheap crappy budget ones from other companies will have already been in a landfill for a couple of years by now.

That last part could be said of most corporations. The difference is Apple has so far backed it up with concrete proof that they genuinely have at very least done something, even if its not as much as we'd all like.

macOS updates happen overnight when the machine is idle unless you disable that. I've not witnessed a mac update in years now, it happens automatically, and when I open my laptop it's done and everything is exactly as I left it.

Here's a hypothetical (although as of right now admittedly VERY unlikely scenario): It's 2035. Google has continued a worldwide decline with the invention of several highly accurate AI drive search systems deeply integrated into t
