I noticed Amazon has stopped informing you what you actually purchased in their confirmation emails (though the emails still have other purchase suggestions in them). I'm guessing that might be partially to prevent the info from being

It seems like "faster vans" and "more effective nagging people to immediately return books they have already finished" would also weaken copyright under that line of argument; both allow you to loan the same copy to more

The healthcare thing doesn't jive with what I've heard from my native Chinese friends; I've heard if you have the right connections (and by association, wealth) you can get exactly what you need, but without that you can'

I was calling out "user manually provide targeting information to ads companies" as unrealistic, the alternative of "don't have persistent user profiles for ads" is obviously possible.

Civic understanding is just much different; the 7 seats aren't actually allocated proportionally through a legal mechanism, the parliament just voluntarily chooses to keep the balance in the executive. If they were willing to violate t

How would you imagine "tell them what you're in the market for" would work? I don't think it would work at scale; almost no user would take time to make a manually personalized ad profile instead of ... not doing that.

I'm not sure that the value can explain the 100k signups though; except for a small amount of word-of-mouth the vast majority of those must type in their email based solely on the website content and the promo?

The issue is that OpenGL isn't going to get any new versions, so if you're trying to be forward looking there's only Vulkan even if you don't need the delta that you get performance-wise between that and GL. Its a little

I agree for allowlist but not for grandfathered; as a native speaker "grandfathered" is just an English word and I don't think it means the same thing as "legacy status" in most cases. To me "legacy status"

That does smell like racism but I'm not sure it is in all cases; a native Chinese speaker might prefer to live in a city's Chinatown without them being racist.

I mean, up to the legal statute of limitations they can do that right (eg if they had speed camera recordings that they realized were accidentally unreviewed, they could use those and issue tickets without it being much of a morality issue)

I don't know, tracking everyone's speed to issue tickets doesn't sound nearly as bad as having a recording of 100% of all remote conversations.
