Also, there's some application for lambdas, here: ruby-1.9.3-p0 :001 > double = -> x { x * 2 } => #<Proc:0x000001009236e0@(irb):1 (lambda)> ruby-1.9.3-p0 :002 > double[2] => 4 ruby-1.9.3-p0 :003 &

Wouldn't you think of this as slightly contrary to the purpose of backing a Kickstarter project? What I mean is, say the project had been set at 300k and python was one of the base supported languages. That would actually be no different t

Ah, okay. I was about to say originally that it is entirely cross-platform, then I realized there was some qualitative language in the parent post and wondered if maybe the Windows flavor was just flawed somehow. Thanks!

Without disagreeing with the prevailing opinions on the reward rankings, may I observe that it's interesting how Kickstarter has transformed donations for innovation into a shopping cart experience? So many folks in this thread, myself incl

I agree with you on the preference, but I'd like to add that sometimes a format preference exists only as a way of allowing the author to express their ideas succinctly. As much as I may dislike the storyteller format of the article, philo

At odds with many of the comments in this thread, I interpreted the article as satire and was definitely amused. The fact is that a lot of this is uncomfortably true and there is only a small chance that I would interpret this being said of

That's exactly what I'm getting at, here. The accusations of this being because there is an ominous police state is ludicrous when we could just put expectations of responsibility in place.

This is not valid reasoning. Under this logic, we could feasibly be just as alarmed by balconies of any sort or platforms at any height greater than one story. [Edit]: Which is not to say that there are hurtling objects on these things, b

I agree with you. It reminds me of a response someone made to me when I professed that I had a kneejerk negative reaction to something (which I admittedly still have a kneejerk negative reaction to... Oh well). They linked this: http://l

This is what I've been spinning in my head: Why. Why? Why would you choose such a high-stake, broad-scoped project as the time to use brand new tech which you have no experience with? It's fantastic that everything worked out in the end,

Sorry, I could have been more clear. What I mean is, almost all of the colors are hard coded, unlike primaryButtonColor. You can easily adjust that one, but the others are trickier. The newest version of variables.less in the 2.0 wip branc

Fantastic, guys. Great job. Question: I notice that the button styles are still static (as are a lot of the color styles). Are there any plans to implement project-wide color changing based on the primary color variable? I ask because I'

I want to share my results of a tertiary topic on this thread: Adam Lipsius claiming that hundreds of thousands of pirated copies of "16-LOVE" had destroyed his chances of profiting from the film. A Google of Adam Lipsius returned his IMDB

A curious bit about the P2P stuff - although it's clever as can be, it makes bootstrapping on lighter network hardware excruciating. Such a shame.

I'm so glad to hear that there's a mild representation from a few voices of reason. Trying to drum up any sort of attention from my Facebook/Twitter list is just frustrating and had left me very disheartened.
