Gitlab's CI/CD is amazing. Of all the systems I've seen, it's the easiest to (a) deploy your own runners easily, and (b) mix private and public runners (i.e. the equivalent of using a free plan on Travis, with the benefi

I looked at Notion a while ago as part of my ongoing quest to find a good Markdown editor. Notion isn't aiming to be that, but like a lot of products in this space, it can kind of do it depending on what exactly you're looking for

Did you move away from Emscripten? I was trying to use repl.it offline recently, and it didn't seem to work. Using Emscripten was one of the coolest parts of the original, and it would be sad if you had to drop that.

Hasn't this been a thing since forever on Android? People are always lamenting that uptake of the newest version (or newest 2 versions) is slow. Do you actually have evidence that the uptake of this specific version is slow? Otherwis

I absolutely agree that message passing and actor models are the way things are done now. I just don't agree that it'll be the best we can do in the future. As a programming languages person, message passing doesn't seem very

First, I'll say: if you have any suggestions for how to improve the tutorials and documentation in general, we'd be happy to hear them. Even years into the project, we're still learning how to teach Legion. We're an open

It's worth mentioning that this isn't the only way to do distributed programming. Dataflow programming works quite well, and the newest state of the art systems are exploring ways to generate dataflow parallelism implicitly from s

There are really two kinds of attacks: ones that involve subverting existing networked devices to perform malicious acts (hacking), and making one's own malicious devices (building). Of the two, attacking existing devices sounds scarie

Have you ever tried to typeset a complex document with side bars, figures, multi-part figures, figures that contain math (not just images), and layouts that take a lot of tweaking to get just right? I can imagine doing that in Pandoc Markdo

You unmap the memory when you free it so that it causes a segfault if you access it, and then if a segfault occurs you know something went wrong.
