I agree in general, but in this case you can prove it for yourself by growing your own tomatoes (or whatever works in your climate) and comparing it to what you get in the store. At least in California, the difference is often night and day

Honest question: how well do HLS tools actually work in practice? Maybe this is completely wrong, but I have this gut instinct that they must be extremely brittle. That's based on being a CPU/GPU compiler person and knowing, for e

What do you do to rebind them? Are you using real rebinding tools or just using duct tape or something?

For those who have read The Power Broker... how do you stand to hold it? I bought the paper book after reading another one of these threads on HN, but it's so large that it makes my hands sore to hold it (or my neck if I lay it on my l

The benefit is the rest of the pure text toolchain. Like being able to use Git. I can confirm, for example, how long a typo has existed in my book by looking at the Git history. Maybe that's a bit academic, but you get the point. I hav

But this is the same story with pretty much every language, right? I remember dealing with some of the C++ interop layers in Common Lisp back about 10 years ago. All around an awful experience, and not really because of either CL or the int
